ALIEN: COVENANT

Releasing: May 19, 2017

Well color me freaking excited! Ridley Scott is directing a new ALIEN movie that links up with PROMETHEUS. In the movie a colony space ship crew finds a world they think is an uninhabited paradise, but they soon discover the single resident is a synthetic human, David from PROMETHEUS.  I’m sure there are aliens in there too!

IT

Releasing: September 8, 2017

So far the posters and monster concepts for the new IT look great! This updated version of Stephen King’s novel will once again explore the lives of a group of outcast kids in Maine who discover a dark force feeding on children in their small town. Bill Skarsgard is playing the titular role of Pennywise.

FLATLINERS

Releasing: September 29, 2017

Ellen Page and Nina Dobrev are starring in this remake, and apparently Kiefer Sutherland (star of the original) is also making a cameo. This tale of medial students who discover how to bring someone back from death scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. I’m curious to see the updated take on the project.

This one stars Chloe Moretz, Dakota Johnson, and Tilda Swinton. There has been a lot of mixed feedback on the project considering the original film is considered quite classic amongst fans. Read about why we are intrigued by it here.

DAY OF THE DEAD

Releasing: TBA 2017

This is the second remake of the classic George Romero film DAY OF THE DEAD. Millennium Pictures/ Nu Image are producing this version, and it is being directed by Hèctor Hernández Vicens. By all accounts, the plot looks quite different, focusing on a medical student who is running from a half-human/half-zombie.

HELLRAISER: JUDGEMENT

Releasing: TBA 2017

In order to keep their copyright license, Dimension must make a HELLRAISER film every few years. This one is directed by Gary Tunnicliffe, so let’s at least hope the FX are good.
