A while ago, we teased the news that multi-talented Jordan Peele signed on with Blumhouse for his feature horror directing debut GET OUT.
Just last month, we were thrilled to have Peele join us for a recent episode of our SHOCK WAVES podcast, where he discussed his childhood genre obsessions — which influenced his own creative career — and listed his five all-time favorite horror movies.
Today we’re excited to reveal a bit more about GET OUT — including the official theatrical release date, which is now set for February 24, 2017, via Universal Pictures.
Peele wrote and directed GET OUT, and co-produced the film with our very own Jason Blum, as well as Sean McKittrick (DONNIE DARKO), and Edward H. Hamm Jr. (THE BOX). It stars Daniel Kaluuya (SICARIO) and Allison Williams (GIRLS) as an interracial couple on a weekend getaway to meet her parents — played by Catherine Keener (8MM) and Bradley Whitford (CABIN IN THE WOODS). Tensions suddenly turn to terror, as the curtain is pulled back on her family’s dark secrets.
The first theatrical trailer for the film will come before showings of BIRTH OF A NATION beginning this Friday. Ahead of that, the first TV spot is slated to air during the BET Hip-Hop Awards, tonight at 8pm Eastern/7pm Central.
But you don’t have to wait until tonight… you can watch the trailer right here!
