Earlier this year, we let you know about the digital release of HORROR MOVIE A DAY: THE BOOK, an adaptation of the website HorrorMovieADay.com written by former Bloody-Disgusting / current Birth. Movies. Death contributor Brian Collins. And now, the physical edition of the book has arrived! To celebrate, Collins recently did a signing, alongside screenwriter Todd Farmer (MY BLOODY VALENTINE, DRIVE ANGRY, JASON X), this past weekend at Dark Delicacies in Burbank.
Over the course of 6 years, Collins has taken on the task of watching and reviewing one different horror movie per day for his website HorrorMovieADay.com. He concluded his amazing run on his 2500th write up. And while all those reviews are still accessible via is website, the new book is an amazing extension of what he began there.
Collins has selected 365 horror titles – one suggested movie title per day for your whole year – broken up each month into various horror sub-genres. The book features an excerpt from his original review, followed by a new retrospective reflection with Collins’ thoughts on the film now. It’s a really terrific reference guide for those genre fans that are always on the hunt to find that one horror movie you’ve never heard of, and even the most seasoned of horror watchers will inevitably find a few titles they may have missed within its pages.
Earlier this year, we had exclusively debuted the foreward to the book by Todd Farmer, along with a piece of art by Nathan Chesshir. (You can check those out right here.) And while copies of the book sold out the day of the signing, you can check over on the Dark Delicacies website to snag yourself a signed copy. It’s also readily available on Amazon.
